How to apply
Please ensure that you address all the application requirements for your program. We encourage you to apply as early as possible. You may apply even if you are awaiting final academic results, as conditional offers can be made.
Information for local applicants
Local applicants are Australian citizens and permanent residents, New Zealand citizens, and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa.
To apply for a graduate program in the GSHSS you must:

- **These outcomes dates can only be guaranteed for applications received with full supporting documentation by the round closing date. Please note that Semester 1, 2012 GSHSS Graduate Equity Program applicants will not receive application outcomes until late December 2011.
- Late Semester 1 applications may be accepted after 17 February. Contact GSHSS Admissions Office: gshss-admissions@unimelb.edu.au
- GSHSS Equity Program applications are only available to Masters and Postgraduate Diploma program applicants, and will not be accepted after 30 November.
- Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) will be allocated on the basis of competitive academic merit or equity for Masters programs. For Postgraduate Diploma programs CSP are only allocated on the basis of equity to successful GSHSS Equity Program applicants.

Information for international applicants
International applicants may apply in one of two ways:
- Through one of our overseas representatives. Read more information on overseas representatives; or
- Submit an online application directly to the University.
Supporting documents should be submitted as follow:
- To assist the timely assessment of your application, if possible please upload your supporting documents as electronic files during your online application;
- Certified hard-copies of all academic and English Language Requirement documents must be submitted via post to the University of Melbourne International Admissions office or one of the University's overseas representatives as soon as possible following your online application. An application outcome will normally not be sent until certified or original documents have been received.
