Faculty of Arts

Welcome to the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Faculty of Arts, we are delighted that you are interested in our graduate research programs.

The Faculty of Arts has an outstanding reputation for research and attracts high achieving graduate students who come here to benefit from internationally recognised scholars with global networks. Our academics are renowned researchers and leading practitioners in their fields of expertise, but also committed teachers who encourage intellectual excellence and critical enquiry.

More than 200 academic research staff are currently supervising research students across a broad range of specialisations. Our academic staff, like our graduate community, contributes a stimulating mix of cultural diversity and intellectual rigour to our University.

Our graduate research students go on to build careers in a wide range of fields. Some continue on to academic researcher and teaching positions, others go on to successful professional roles in business, government and other community, not-for-profit and international organisations. Whichever pathway you choose, the Faculty’s world-class academic staff and new graduate facilities will serve as a strong foundation.

I look forward to welcoming you into the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
