Student profile: Helen Riseborough
I decided to study the Master of Social Policy to enhance my career and for personal development. I wanted to study a program that would allow me to apply a theoretical framework to my everyday work with disadvantaged people and I also wanted to expand my thinking and acquire a broad knowledge base. After speaking with an academic staff member at the University of Melbourne, I was convinced that the Master of Social Policy was for me.
Graduate study extends you academically; it's challenging, and very rewarding. When I studied as an undergraduate, I had limited experience to draw upon. Studying the Master of Social Policy has been different, as I can draw upon my professional and life experiences and put the academic frameworks and theories into context.
